ARCHIVED: Tigris Rugby Shirt

Designed in collaboration with Sara Mohr, PhD Candidate, Department of Egyptology and Assyriology at Brown University.

Behind the Design: "Though not specifically cuneiform inspired, the colors are influenced by the reconstructions of the Assyrian reliefs in royal palaces (second picture). Pretty much all of the reliefs in museums these days are devoid of color. Any remnants of color were thought to be dirt when they were excavated, so they were subsequently power-washed. Recently, researchers have started to bring the color back to the ancient world. I chose the colors for the rugby based on some of the most common colors that we now know adorned the palace walls."
